PNW rain and a Texas wedding

 


On top of Multnomah Falls.


Splurging on an extremely overpriced cocktail because they marketed to me directly. 


Rainy days lead to creativity.

Top of Multnomah Falls again, we stared down the waterfall for a good 20 minutes, mesmerized. 




Picking up this hiking thing since the rain kicked us off all the climbing walls, not a bad spot for it!

Spent one rainy day in Portland, OR - best past was Powell's bookstore, the worlds largest independent bookstore, I could have stayed the entire day.

Stopped in the beautiful and unique town of Astoria on our way to Tacoma. 


Unfortunately my good friend Carly who we were planning to visit in Tacoma tested positive for COVID, we had a few sad days staying apart while still parking in their driveway before we flew to Texas. Thankfully we were able to re-connect once we returned!

Fell in love with the city of Tacoma, WA. 


Beach time! After a very rainy week in the PNW we were very happy to spend some time with my family at a Texas beach before my brother's wedding.

I felt honored to be a part of the wedding party, Ameck had us all wear custom tailored African dresses that were just absolutely beautiful.

INCREDIBLE time celebrating my brother and sister in law (Brett and Ameck) in Houston with 2 nights of celebration! 



Felix found some date to take to my brother's wedding (the 2nd ceremony).

Finally able to hug and spend time with Carly and meet her boyfriend Sean!


Had a RAGING night watching Eurovision! 



As always, Carly brought the good vibes and the yoga/stretching in her beautiful home.

Friends! Met up with Nick and Lindsey in Leavenworth, WA. We are both planning to be in the area for the next couple weeks!




The sun finally came out and we were able to play on some rocks again!

Felix finally found his favorite tree from Sweden here in America - a weeping white birch tree. 


Super fun to have our van friends right outside our door for the next few weeks! 

WELP. We are learning how to manage the rain in the PNW! We have had to change a few plans, spend more time not climbing than we would like but overall its still been a very eventful few weeks. With all the rain  it was even more amazing to get a full week in Texas for my brother's wedding and have great time with family. The weather is looking up in Leavenworth but not in any other climbing spots we picked out in WA so it looks like we will be calling this place home for awhile and we aren't mad about it. After Leavenworth we will head to the North Cascades for another week before we start heading into Canada!

    Wonderful & humorous pictures. Scenery looks gorgeous. Mike & I are in Italy with friends having a blast. We were in Germany before that. We have friends that rave about Powell's. Megan, you looked beautiful in the white dress you wore to your brother's wedding. The traditional clothes that Amek had made for you were gorgeous. Miss you!

    Your travels and photos are stunning- I'm left sort of speechless. Not entirely though- the rocks aren't going anywhere. A bit of rain only postpones the next summit. :)

SQUAMISH. This winter Felix and I started to really realize that our time in the van was limited. We knew that by the end of the year we would be back to jobs, settling into a new home, and possibly having a child. SO what did we want to do with this precious time? 🌵Ranch Wedding Weekend🐄

Those are some genuine smiles. This post is LONG but loaded with so much love and support and fun, a little behind the scenes look at what went into making our big day happen and photos that captured the whole weekend feel which was everything we wanted and more!  A true ranch experience start! The first week Felix and I were on the ranch, Mom had noticed a new calf that had not moved in days. So we were advised to take her into the vet.. We are all new to the ranch hand situation as my Grandpa took care of all of that before he passed away this fall. So my mom drove the truck, I warded off momma cow while Felix picked up the calf and we placed her in the back of the truck! It was actually easier than we thought, but a new experience for all of us. I ended up naming the calf Zosa (parazosa means lazy in Spanish) which I felt a little bad about once we learned that she wasn’t moving because her momma was too old and was not producing any milk for her to drink.  SO we ended up t...

Van build.

Empty van!  Started with a good clean.  The floor went in first (my project).  Our luxurious garage/work shop built out of Amazon boxes and a picnic table.  Wiring and insulation was next. Then the paneling of the ceiling and walls.  More panelling, you can see the sheep wool insulation behind Felix with working lights!  Me working hard while Felix plays around.  Working outlets and full solar/electric system!  Nice clean view before the bed/cabinets went up.
